SIP & Lumpsum Calculator

Turn your investment idea into a clear, year-by-year estimate. Compare a monthly SIP with a one-time investment, understand the role of compounding, and save scenarios to revisit later.

Returns are assumptions for planning only. Mutual fund investments are market-linked; actual values can be higher or lower, and capital is not guaranteed.

How does the SIP calculation work?

The monthly return is derived from the annual assumption divided by 12. Each contribution is added at month-end, then the balance compounds each month. The step-up, if selected, increases the monthly contribution at each new investment year.

How is a lumpsum investment calculated?

The one-time amount is treated as invested at the start of the period and compounds monthly for the selected duration. No additional contributions are added in lumpsum mode.

Are mutual fund returns guaranteed?

No. The return field is an assumption, not a prediction or promise. Market returns can fluctuate, and investors can lose money. Taxes, expense ratios, exit loads and inflation are not included in the projection.

Can I keep multiple scenarios?

Yes. Save different combinations of contribution, return and duration. The shared Saved Estimates page lets you review scenarios from this calculator and other supported GovtSave tools in one place on this browser.
